This map shows the statistical risk of a fatal or serious injury crash occurring on Britain’s motorway and ‘A’ road network from 2017 to 2019, although some of the roads shown have had improvements made to them recently. This network represents less than 15% of Britain’s total road length, but round 60% of fatal road crashes, and more than 40% of serious road crashes, occur on these roads.
