This map shows the statistical risk of a fatal or serious injury crash occurring on Britain’s motorway and ‘A’ road network from 2018 to 2020, although some of the roads shown have had improvements made to them recently. This network represents less than 15% of Britain’s total road length, but around 55% of fatal road crashes, and more than 35% of serious road crashes, occur on these roads.
