This map shows the statistical risk of a fatal or serious injury crash occurring on Britain’s motorway and ‘A’ road network from 2020 to 2022, although some of the roads shown have had improvements made to them recently. This network represents less than 14% of Britain’s total road length, but almost 60% of fatal road crashes, and more than 40% of serious road crashes, occur on these roads.
