Executive Team
Suzy is Executive Director at the Road Safety Foundation, providing leadership of the organisation. Suzy creates new ideas and thinking, provides technical oversight of our projects and methodologies, and leads our collaboration with other stakeholders. Suzy was programme manager for iRAP upon its inception nearly 20 years ago, has broad experience across all areas of road safety through her work developing national road safety strategies, and is recognised as a leading Safe System expert with specialism in the Safe Roads and Safe Speeds elements.
Kate is the Programme and Engineering Director at the Road Safety Foundation. In her daily role she brings her knowledge and expertise in Programme Management to deliver the portfolio of projects which RSF undertake. This includes the Safer Roads Fund project for DfT, managing the iRAP surveys across the UK and work with the Welsh Government and National Highways. She has over three decades experience in the fields of road safety and traffic management in Local Authorities and private consultancy and is a PRINCE2 Practitioner and PMQ-qualified Project Manager.
James is the Lead Road Safety Engineer at the Road Safety Foundation. He brings knowledge and expertise in road safety engineering to deliver the portfolio of projects which RSF undertake. This includes supporting engineers from Local Authorities, Welsh Government and National Highways and their respective supply chains to develop safety schemes using the iRAP suite of tools. James also assists in the delivery of iRAP surveys across the UK including route and network road safety modelling. He has nearly three decades experience in the fields of road safety, traffic management and transport planning working for Local Authorities and private consultancy.
Brian is the Road Safety Research and Policy Officer at the Road Safety Foundation. A highly-qualified mathematician with 20 years of experience in road safety, he leads much of the Foundation’s analytical work. This includes Crash Risk Mapping Britain’s motorways and ‘A’ roads each year, and working with road authorities to help prioritise highly cost-effective road safety investment. He has a particular ability to share the findings of evidence-based road safety analysis with a wide range of audiences – he has presented at and chaired conferences, appeared as an expert witness in court, and appeared on television and radio.
